About us

Hi, my name is Annabelle. I am the founder and principal teacher of Core Centre of Performing Arts. I was born in Grimsby and after being introduced to dance at the age of 2, I absolutely fell in love! So much so I have dedicated my life so far to dance and performing arts. After completing my professional training and teaching qualifications in Blackpool, I felt inspired to pass my knowledge and passion onto the next generation. So in 2019 I took the leap and started Core in my hometown!

The first few years really have been a roller-coaster with events we could have never predicted when we opened. This said we have managed to go from offering a couple of sessions a week, to now offering a variety of dance classes on Wednesday-Saturday in N. E. Lincolnshire. I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I have made, seeing my students every week and the joy they get out of each class, I pinch myself that this is my job.

We can proudly state that as a dance school we are encouraging, friendly and supportive. Providing a positive environment to help all our students flourish not only as dancers but as individuals.

We offer classes in ballet, tap, contemporary modern jazz, toddler dance, musical theatre, street/commercial and more. We welcome students as young as 2 (or close to!) and our adult classes have no upper age limit because it’s never too late to start dancing!

We provide lots of opportunities outside of regular classes including IDTA examinations, theatre trips, school shows, workshops, community events & summer schools. In 2022 we initiated Freedom Dance Showcase at The Grimsby Auditorium which we are extremely proud to host and perform in. This annual event celebrates the talent we have in our region bringing together, as a community, both dance & performing arts schools.
